Complications and Prayers

The Linn Family
It has been a long and distressing 48 hours for Hollis, Lindsey and Jeff. Sweet Hollis started Monday with a smile, eagerly awaiting her new liver. But after a grueling 12 hour surgery, Hollis faced complications with internal bleeding on Tuesday morning that led her back to the operating room for emergency surgery. She had a second 6 hour corrective surgery on Tuesday to address the bleeding which had affected the flow to the new liver, selflessly donated by a living donor. She is currently stable, but it will take 2-3 days of excruciating waiting before tests will reveal if this liver is healthy, and is functioning properly in her body.
As a precaution, and potential preparatory step, she has been placed back on the transplant list, in the event that she would need to start over with another new liver, another transplant surgery, and another recovery process. We hope and pray this is not the case. In the best case situation, this newly transplanted current liver will be viable and Hollis will not need any additional surgeries. But given the complication, the originally anticipated 10 day post surgery stay, will most certainly be weeks in the hospital, with a longer recovery overall.
Lindsey and Jeff have been by Hollis's side since Saturday, as cheerleaders and constant sources of strength for Hollis. But their strength wanes with every further complication and additional hurdle that is placed in front of what was the expected finish line. Jeff must return to work next week, and the family must now manage the extended stay for Hollis with Lindsey by her bedside in the hospital, along with 6 month old baby Hazel at home with extended family.

We welcome your prayers and encourage you to share their story to your own communities for extended support of love and positivity. And to those who have the financial capacity, we ask that you please donate to help lighten the load of the challenges this young family has been faced with. Thank you for caring!
