Well... our closing WAS delayed. Our Pods arrived five days apart. Mike left for a mission trip two days after we closed, and was gone when the second Pod arrived.
But, we made it through!
Mike's sister Marie came to town the day we closed, and she was a HUGE help with unloading, cleaning, unpacking and moving stuff around. She also got lots of time to be the fun Tia and play with Joanna!
We had a big crew from church to help unload the Pod while Mike was gone.
Now we are settling in at our own pace and feeling more at home every day. We all love the cooler temperatures in the mornings and evenings (although the afternoons are pretty hot right now!). The breezes are cool, and the mosquitoes don't pack as much of a punch as they did in Texas. Joanna loves playing on the deck, and the grown-ups have been busy organizing tools, pulling weeds... even painting the shutters (Kristen's pet project).
We celebrated our 19th anniversary on July 30th and felt very blessed that we made it here and don't have to go anywhere for a while!
There is still a lot to do around the house... some projects done by the previous owner need to be re-done and re-inspected, so that's a high priority, and we have a few other projects on our list before we get all of our furniture and decorations in place. Joanna is starting to have appointments, which we hope to get squared away before she starts PRESCHOOL in September!
Thank you all for your prayers and support. It means so much to us!
P.S. feel free to reach out via email, text or social media if you'd like our new address!
