Sky’s hospital visit went smoothly yesterday. We arrived at 07:30 and her op was complete by 11am. She even got to meet and stroke a dog named Sage while she was being checked and bloods taken before her the op. I wouldn’t say she was ecstatic the whole time but it definitely helped distract a little. 

Now we need to wait for the MRD test result which could take up to a week to get back. Her blood results have continued to show her counts returning and we can see it in how she is feeling within herself. 

As of yesterday we have now completed this course of steroids so she gets a break from them for at least the next month, woohoo! The doctors expect that these will have cleared from her system within a couple of weeks and she will start to show signs of her normal self again which we will be amazing because we miss our little girls cheeky smiles and laughs all day long.

We know that the treatment will ramp up again later but we are thankful that we are now through induction and into consolidation and there is now some small respite for Sky’s little body. 

Please pray as we have the anxious wait for the results of the MRD test that whatever plans are in store for us with this test result that we will continue to be strengthened and sustained as a family and in our care for Sky.
