Heading in to Chemo Cycle 4

As we head to Vanderbilt for Cycle 4 of Liam's chemotherapy, our hearts are filled with so much hope and encouragement.

The past couple of weeks have been a beautiful reminder that God is faithfully carrying us through this journey. From the fundraiser at Whit's, to the incredible "Workout of the Day" fundraiser at Mountain Valley Fitness and the other local CrossFit gyms, to our Mission team returning from Honduras with a love offering from the very people we've had the privilege to serve, to an unforgettable evening together at Dude Perfect thanks to HopeKids... we have been overwhelmed by love.

Every meal, every prayer, every donation, every message, every hug, every fundraiser, and every act of kindness has reminded us that we are not walking this road alone. We are incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing family, church, friends, and community.

The Lord has been teaching me a lot through this experience.

Those of you who know Steven and me know that accepting help has never come naturally. If there's any way we can do something ourselves, we'll do it. We'd much rather be the ones serving than the ones being served.

I recently read a book written by a father whose son was diagnosed with cancer. He said something that deeply resonated with me. He talked about how they weren't supposed to be the family whose child had cancer—they were supposed to be the family helping the one whose child did.

I understood exactly what he meant.

Steven and I love being the hands and feet of Jesus. We love showing up for others. But in this season, God is teaching us a different kind of obedience... the humility to receive.

We're learning that allowing others to love us, serve us, and carry part of the burden isn't weakness—it's part of how God designed the Body of Christ to work. Sometimes being the hands and feet of Jesus means serving, and sometimes it means allowing someone else to be His hands and feet for you.

As we begin Cycle 4, we ask that you continue praying for Liam. Pray that this treatment continues to do exactly what it's designed to do, that his body remains strong, that side effects stay minimal, and that we continue to trust God's perfect plan one day at a time.
