The Hansen Family
Because we know many of you are thinking of Caleb this week we want to briefly let you know what we have learned so far.
MRI and PET Scan Imaging
The MRI confirmed masses in multiple locations: two large masses are in the liver, a large one in the upper abdomen, a small one on the outside of the intestine, and a handful of tiny ones around his lungs. The PET scan showed that it is also in the marrow of many bones.
Biopsy
Multiple tests are being done on the tissue samples. The result of one test indicated that this may not be lymphoma. This was an unexpected result and the sample is being sent to Cleveland for further testing. This means that it may be another three weeks before a diagnosis is able to be made.
Paracentesis Scheduled for Friday, March 28th
The paracentesis will remove excess fluid from Caleb's abdomen. The fluid will continue to build up over time, but doing this procedure will make him more comfortable for the time being.
