Thanks so much for your support and prayers.
Update
Caleb did amazing at the appointment. He found a brochure for his collection early and proudly held his souvenir as everything progressed. He was very relaxed comfortable, and even helpful when asked to move, transfer, and change. All the nurses, anesthesiologist, imaging techs and doctors were great with Caleb. The IV insertion was so easy he only let out a grunt! As we moved from one place to another Caleb expressed no stress or concern. When they put him under he was very relaxed. The imaging, procedure, and recovery went as scheduled. They told us "It all went well". Caleb's recovery should be minimal. He has 4 tiny spots where they inserted a needle into his upper abdomen. He is experiencing no added discomfort. He has no new limitations and is already moving around as well as before the procedure. He is acting as though he just got up form a nap. We will keep an eye on him for signs of complications. "So far, so good" as they say. We were even home in time for dinner. All in all, it went even better than expected.
We are still playing the "waiting game". It will be at least a week before any detailed diagnosis/prognosis is expected. We will keep the updates coming.
Prayer requests
1. Pray for no complications and that we catch any that may exist.
2. Pray that Caleb stays comfortable.
3. Pray we will get a timely diagnosis so we can make educated decisions about his care.
4. Pray the swelling that is pressing up on his lungs will not increase.
FAQ
What can we do to help?
Meals
All the meals given have been incredibly helpful! Our time and bandwidth has become so limited that even ordering food is overwhelming sometimes. Dinner dropped off at our house truly makes a difference!
Activities for Caleb
Caleb has so enjoyed the activities many of you have given! He finds a lot of comfort in doing projects both at home and at his hospital appointments. Now that his energy is limited for physical actives he is going through his workbooks quickly. Great options are sticker books, maze workbooks, and search and find books all in the "4-6" age range. He also loves Legos and puzzles 100-250 pieces.
"Money may not bring happiness, but it can solve some problems"
We didn't expect people to give financially when Emily set up this page, but I'd be lying if I said your generosity hasn't lessened the burden. Thank you! It's been vital that we work as a team to meet Caleb's needs. For this reason Joe has cut way back on his work hours. There is a donation option on this page. We also can receive money through Zelle.
We have been so blessed by our family, friends, and even friends of family. We greatly appreciate you and are strengthened by all the love.
