As always thank you all so much for your prayers and support.
ER Visit
Caleb's illness has impacted his ability to breath normally. He started wheezing yesterday so we took him back to the ER for further evaluation. Blood panels showed nothing new but the CAT scan showed a massively expanded liver and and enlarging spleen. The Doc speculated Caleb's liver and spleen are clogging up. It may be from a cancer mass or from accumulating dead cells. This swelling is pressing up on his lungs so they can't fully expand. They prescribed an inhaler. There is nothing more they will do without his specific lymphoma diagnosis unless he goes above 25 breaths per minute. After seven hours Caleb was discharged and we brought him home.
Caleb's Status
Breathing is short but he is getting enough air and his O2 saturation is still good. Caleb's discomfort is increasing. Bladder and bowel control is unpredictable. He is on light painkillers but at this rate we may have to look at stronger options before the end of the week. Normal tasks and even some of his favorite projects are becoming more difficult for Caleb and he often wants assistance transferring and sitting/standing.
Rene and Joe
We are tired and focus is fleeting. We work hard at good self-care in order to maintain mental and emotional stability. We were 95% successful over the last week.
Pray requests
1. Please pray that Caleb will stay comfortable. The 24 hours before the biopsy the only painkiller Caleb can have is Tylenol. Pray that this will be enough for him.
2. Pray Rene and Joe can accomplish healthy self-care and good sleep.
FAQ
How is Logan doing?
Logan's answer: "I'm trying to get used to the idea of Caleb being sick. It's hard to know since there is no official diagnosis. I don't know how to feel or what to expect."
