One month of the Berlin heart for little Weston today.

This momma went home on Monday and grandma Anissa took my place for a few days so I could take care of some of my doctor appointments at home. While I was gone doctors and I decided it was time to do the NJ tube. Weston had been throwing up a lot and not keeping his meds down, his weight was also down. Heart rate was also going up since he was not getting the oral meds like he should have been with all his puking. NJ tube was placed on Tuesday, little man than experienced some nose bleeding. Bleeding took awhile to stop and he needed a blood transfusion. Weston is on a few blood thinners due to his Berlin heart and he still has a large blood clot in his nose. The nurses and doctors do not want to clean up his nose until we are certain it is not going to start bleeding again. Since being on the NJ tube for a few days his heart rate has gone back down and his weight has started going back up. Since he has the NJ tube his feeds are continuous. He went from being fed three ounces every three hours to now he gets one ounce every hour. Nurse Kyle explained it as the stomach can stretch to hold all the food but your intestines can not hence why smaller feeds but all day long. The rate for how fast his Berlin heart is pumping was increased today to accommodate his growth.

Weston shirts- I am going to ask everyone to wear their Weston shirts on Wednesdays and to share his story with anyone you can. The more people who know about our warrior means more prayers being said to the big man upstairs!
