Out of Surgery

Hi friends and family,

Thank you for your prayers! Andrea is out of surgery and in the ICU. I’m here with her now and she is awake and talking, but very tired. 

I was able to talk to Dr. Patel. As expected, Andrea does not have mobility on the left side, but signs show this will come back with time. They’re checking on her every hour to make sure it’s moving in the right direction. She can feel pain, but has limited reflex responses right now. 

Dr. Patel was able to get a lot of the tumor out. Pathology will tell more in a few weeks, but it appears to be a glioma, as they thought. It does not appear to be high grade, which also confirms what they had thought.

She is scheduled for a CT tonight at 3am and then Dr. Patel will come back tomorrow morning to check in on her and determine if she is ready to move to a recovery room. 

We will be sure to keep you updated as we learn more information.

The kids are in great hands and have lots of support with friends and family.
