Please urgently pray now for Simeon. He is scheduled for his first heart surgery early this morning (Friday, Feb 20th) at 8:30 a.m CT.

The name "Simeon" in the Hebrew means, "the Lord has heard." We chose this name for our son to express our deep conviction that the Lord always hears our prayers. And somehow in His inscrutable ways, the Lord invites, commands, and involves all of our fervent prayers to accomplish His redemption. Leaving the outcome to Him, we can boldly pray knowing that our Lord has heard, hears, and will hear all of our prayers for Simeon and will continue to be fully loving, fully strong, and fully kind.

In God's amazing kindness, our surgeon loves Jesus and is a member of our church! We are abundantly thankful for God's provision for Simeon in every way.

The surgery involves a sternotomy (cutting through the sternum) to access the heart and lungs. The purpose of this first surgery is to enable Simeon to begin gaining weight. This surgery will, God-willing, reduce the excessive connection between the heart and lungs. Simeon needs to gain weight in order to prepare for the significant heart repair in 3-6 months from now.

Please pray:
  • For protection of Simeon's life and no complications with his heart, lungs, and brain.
  • For protection of Simeon against dangerous bleeding and infections.
  • For the surgery to successfully allow Simeon to gain weight.
  • For wisdom and discernment for our surgeon and the whole operating and recovery teams.
