Greyson’s chest x-ray today looks the same as yesterday. They said he is making small steps of improvement every day.

Greyson has been on the CPAP setting on the ventilator during the day and is doing pretty well on it.   The settings are still too high for them to feel comfortable to extubate today (which they talked to us about yesterday), but they think it will be able to happen in the next couple of days. They are going to continue to wean his vent settings, and hopefully get him to a better place so they can extubate him this week.

Greyson has been on antibiotics for 21 days now (since he first came to the PICU with septic shock).  They are stopping at least one of these antibiotics and are going to see how he does. 21 days is the full course for this antibiotic  so they think it will be okay to stop it but they are going to keep an even closer eye on him and make sure he doesn’t go into septic shock again.

They are also going to take out his foley tube today and see if he’s able to pee on his own yet. His loose stool is also slowly improving so they may go up on his feeds a little bit today. 💚🧡🎗️
