We wanted to share a few updates on Chelsea and how things have been going. 

Earlier today she finished respiratory therapy and, for the first time, tried 10 minutes of pressure support sprints to help her begin the process of coming off the ventilator. She did AMAZING 🤩 and handled it like a champ. One more reason we proudly say #ChelseaStrong. 

We also have some really encouraging news. As her sedation is being very carefully monitored and very slowly lowered, Chelsea has been able to open her right eye and is moving all of her limbs 🙏🎉🙏🎉. Seeing these responses has lifted our hearts in a big way. Right now, the care team is emphasizing a very calm, low‑light, low‑stimulation environment while she continues to rest and heal. Today we are celebrating our little squirmy worm and these meaningful steps forward 🎉🎉🎉. 

Last night, however, was a tough one. Chelsea experienced some complications with medications that caused discomfort, and the care team worked diligently through the night to manage things. She is stable now and continuing to be closely monitored. Needless to say, sleep has been minimal for us, but we keep reminding ourselves that this is a marathon, not a sprint 💗. 

Through it all, we’re holding tightly to Chelsea’s own words…the ones she’s always so quick to share with others: 

“Chin up! You got this!” 

Those words feel especially powerful right now. We’re taking them to heart as we celebrate each small victory, like yesterday’s c‑spine clearance, today’s movement and eye‑opening, and the strength she continues to show us every single day. Chelsea is a fighter and one tough cookie, and we are endlessly grateful for the prayers, messages, love, and support surrounding her and our family. They truly mean more than we can say.💕
