Encouraging News Today🎉

Initial MRI results are in, and while we’re still waiting on more details from both the MRI and MRV from her care team, we can definitely celebrate some great news…Chelsea has no C‑spine injuries!! 🎉🎉🎉 Woohoo!! Such a huge relief. They even took her neck brace off!

She is still being slowly weaned from some of her sedation and pain medications, so we’re hopeful that as that continues, we’ll start to see more physical signs of progress. 💕💕💕

It’s been a very eventful day in the PICU. Chelsea had her EEG leads removed, was taken off seizure medication, and received a blood transfusion this morning, which we’re told is very typical in the PICU setting.

We are incredibly grateful for the amazing care team at WakeMed Children’s Hospital taking such good care of Chelsea. Their expertise, compassion, and constant attention mean more to our family than we can ever put into words. 💖 They have become family.
