Morning Update 3/20

Last night was an ok night... No fever! However, he had a lot of pain. We can't seem to get his pain under control. After 4 surgeries, tubes hanging out everywhere, stuck in a bed... I can see why he is in pain. Both Mike and Tricia got a total of 3 hours of sleep. Still better than nothing. So here we go...

They did an x-ray on his lungs around 3am. We have not heard the results of that yet. They are worried about pneumonia as his lungs are not getting better fast enough. We need to keep doing breathing treatments.
His WBC is up to 28,000 from 23,000 yesterday. We have not heard about his hemoglobin yet.
The Infectious Disease doctor was in this morning and said that the cultures of his bag swabs and urine did not grow any new types of bacteria which shows that the medication is slowly working.
The Urologist also came in and said everything is looking ok on his end.
Mikes colostomy bag specialist came in and said they are happier with the amount of contents going into the bag. They removed the tube that was in his nose! This made Mike really happy because now he can start to suck on candy, drink water, and they even gave him chicken broth. It has been 8 days since Mike got to drink chicken broth. This should help lift his spirits.
We are going to ask about doing another CT scan on his abdomen just to make sure everything looks ok in there.
The nurses want him to start walking and moving without help from Tricia. This will help his lungs.

Please continue to pray that his vitals improve, his pain improves, and that his abdomen is not leaking and looks ok. Pray that he has the strength to start moving around and getting his lungs better.
