Evan has been scheduled for surgery November 5 at Emory, with pre-op November 3. The Dr. said he will likely be hospitalized 8 days to give his bowels time to “wake up”after the trauma of surgery, and then he can continue recovery at home.

We also found out that although the radiologist here said the biopsy results appeared to show “high grade” cancer cells, the Dr. at Emory said they were “low grade“ mucinous carcinoma peritonei which means the cancer cells are not as aggressive as the high grade. They think it has been growing in him for about 9 months and we won’t know the full extent until he is opened up, but it seems to be good news that the cells are not as aggressive as we originally thought.
