Teddie’s Journey To A Cure
🧸Day +40
It’s been a good weekend with a lot of anxious waiting. Teddie has felt well and spent her days playing, laughing, and being her silly self. We’ve been soaking up all the things she loves most.
🧬 Her final bone marrow result is back — and it’s clear. No leukemia DNA detected.
Here’s a quick breakdown of how they check her marrow. Maybe it’ll help explain why we were even more anxious.
1️⃣Microscope – her cells looked normal
2️⃣ MRD (minimal residual disease) – a very sensitive test that can spot 1 cancer cell in 10,000. It picked up a tiny group of “suspicious” B-cells (0.00052%) that didn’t match her original leukemia. Meaning, it wasn’t likely her disease coming back..but it was weird enough to draw attention.
3️⃣ ClonoSEQ – the most sensitive test, checking the actual DNA of the cells not just what they look like on the surface (can detect 1 in 1 million). It came back negative — no leukemia DNA found.
Her doctor believes the MRD result was maybe normal immature cells showing up during recovery, especially with all the meds she’s on. But the ClonoSEQ result gives us strong reassurance that her marrow is clean. 🙏
🩺 Next step: Her team is planning a small donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) — just an outpatient “boost” of donor immune cells. Because her leukemia was aggressive, her doctor wants to be just as aggressive in making sure it stays away. The goal is to give her new immune system even more power and push out the last traces of her old one.
We are still in awe of the donor who gave this gift. And now, they’ll be giving again — sending more cells to help finish what they started. What a powerful act of kindness and sacrifice. We’re praying for them today and everyday.
Thank you for continuing to walk with us, pray with us, and love our girl through every step.

One day closer 💛
