🧸 Day +3
Teddie had a peaceful night and some much-needed rest — something we never take for granted these days. This morning, she’s receiving a platelet transfusion, which we hope will help boost her energy and keep her little body strong.

She’s also beginning two more days of Cytoxan, a chemotherapy drug used after transplant to help prevent Graft vs. Host Disease — a possible complication where the new immune system tries to attack the body. Cytoxan may also help support successful engraftment, which we’re all hoping comes soon. 🙏

One concern today: her temperature is hovering right near fever range. Because her neutrophils (the white blood cells that fight infection) are at absolute zero (0.0), she’s highly vulnerable. She also has a small irritation or knot around an incision she had for her last surgery. If she spikes a fever — which is likely — her port will be accessed, and she’ll be started on broad-spectrum antibiotics right away. They’ll also draw blood cultures to rule out infection. This is expected in transplant recovery, but still hard to watch.

💛 Despite all of this, our girl still found the strength to play a little yesterday and again this morning. She’s been resting a lot and even looks a bit more pink in the cheeks today. We’re also really grateful we placed her NG tube early on — her appetite is gone, but she’s still getting all the nutrition she needs to keep healing.

To our community: thank you. For the prayers, the messages, the donations, the love. Because of you, we’ve been able to cover bills, stay nourished while living at the hospital, and give Teddie moments of joy — games, toys, crafts, and comfort items that lift her spirits during the hardest days. Your kindness reaches us in the most tangible ways, and we are so deeply grateful.

Keep the prayers coming as we head into this critical stretch. One day closer. 💛🌈
