It’s been a weekend of ups and downs for our sweet Teddie Jane — full of hard moments, hopeful signs, and that signature Teddie spunk shining through. ✨

Day +4 brought a fever, which, while scary, is actually expected around this time and may be a sign of engraftment — her new cells starting to wake up and get to work! Because her immune system is still so fragile, she was started on broad-spectrum antibiotics while we wait on culture results.

She spent most of the day sleeping, but still had energy to complain about baseball on the TV and request a few books. Classic Teddie. 💕

It was also a tough day:
• Her port had to be accessed in addition to her central line
• The first signs of mouth sores started appearing
• She had swelling near her belly button, but an ultrasound thankfully ruled out a hernia. It looks like local inflammation with some fluid buildup — possibly an early infection — so they’re monitoring it closely.

We heard a lot of “ouchies” and “I want to go home” — and our hearts felt every word.

Day +5 brought more light. ✨

She received a unit of blood, and we saw the difference right away — more energy, a lower fever, and her heart rate trending better. 🙌

Her NG tube has been a saga all its own — placed, adjusted, and repositioned again — but we think it’s finally where it needs to be. Fingers crossed it stays put.

Teddie’s hair loss has picked up, which we expected. She’s taking the lead with such maturity — “It’s okay, it’ll grow back,” she says… but also firmly, “Don’t cut it.” We’re following her lead and honoring every curl (I saved one of her beautiful baby curls to remember those sweet ringlets). 💕

One of her blood cultures came back positive, so they’ve added another antibiotic while they identify it. As always, her team is staying one step ahead.

And the best moment? She was up at 6 AM ready to play! Seeing that smile and spark again was the biggest gift.

Thank you all for loving our girl, for praying, and for walking with us through each day. Every message and every prayer means more than we can say.

One day closer.   💛🧸
