Hello friends and family,

My Mom's discharge from the hospital went smoothly without any stress on her. The hospital team and staff were wonderful, beautiful hearted people. They took such loving care of my Mom.

We made the decision to not to go straight back to Arizona. My Mom needed some decompression time from Hospital life and catching up on some R&R before making the long drive back. We're currently being hosted by caring friends who are cooking meals and baking brownies... My Mom said the brownies here trump the chocolate cake in the hospital. It's absolutely incredible the fellowship and kindness that we get to experience being a part of the Church Body.

My Mom is doing well, wiped out from all the events, but her appetite is gaining momentum (YAY), her sleep is more relaxed and regular (instead of unable to keep her eyes open, it's a nap of a body wanting some snoozing time). Her color is getting better, she's been intentional about getting up and getting some steps in throughout the day. She's very careful about how long she stays up and doesn't want to push anything.

She's doing a great job taking care of herself, giving herself patience, grace and love. You know how much of a go getter my Mama is, so this new reality is a huge adjustment. We're learning a new kind of slow.

She's been wearing her wearable defibrillator since Sunday afternoon. It's a learning curve, the wearable adds 3 pounds to her body, so her pace is much slower than even that at the hospital when the nurses had her walk the floor. She'll be needing a new wardrobe to accommodate the wearable and soft pillows for resting/sleeping so the plates don't press against her frame and cause pain or discomfort.

We're still trying to get insurance, they've been doing the old song and dance of denying multiple times before finally accepting, I just need to keep at them a little bit longer.

We sat outside today in the sunshine and shade, watching the swallowtails, birds, and dragonflies, it's been wonderful. My Mom is currently napping from all the activity. We've been able to watch Reacher season 4 which we both believe has been helpful in her healing journey :)

This all still doesn't feel real, we're both hovering in a state of disbelief, like an out of body experience, but we keep moving forward with the strength of the Lord carrying us. We wouldn't be able to do it without God, He's been so wonderful and we know He will continue to be so.

Thank you so much for your blessings and prayers, they mean the world to us. We pray that every person who sees my Mom's page and or gifts a blessing that the Lord bless you and provide for you in every way.

Thank you for reading this,

Renae
