We made it to Friday, folks!

Dad’s pain is decently under control, and he even got some sleep, which we all know is near to impossible at a hospital. He saw his doctor’s Physician Assistant this morning, and she was happy with how surgery went and how dad has initially recovered.

Dad was/is thankful to have had this morning to benefit from the knowledge of a Physical Therapist and an Occupational Therapist. The PT recommended Home Health so Dad can get an At Home PT eval to troubleshoot any tricky spots around the house; meanwhile, thanks to the OT, I’m adding 27 things to the Amazon cart to make the next month easier. That total added up quickly, and it’s such a relief to know it’s all covered, thanks to so many of you.

Reinforcements are inbound; Trey returns tomorrow and Rachel somehow finagled the next week off work. I have felt a little like Davy Crockett at the Alamo, just trying my best to hold off all the various onslaughts, and I will be oh so relieved to have the help of my people.

Ts and Ps (Thoughts and Prayers) to old man Barlo (the Vaughan family geriatric golden retriever mix) who had a rough night without his person, Dad. He’s a one man dog, and no one else will do.

The third floor of Denton Texas Health Presby knows us a little too well, at this point. We are anticipating discharge from the hospital later today!

Best,
Bethany
