Surgery to be Rescheduled ... July 24, 2026

We were hoping to have better news to share today and let everyone know that Steve's tracheostomy procedure was complete and that he was taking the next step toward a long term acute care hospital. Unfortunately, that's not where we are today.

When we spoke with the nurse this morning, they explained that Steve's oxygen levels aren't where they need to be for surgery, so the procedure has been postponed. He also has a slight fever that they'd like to see come down. 

For now, we're taking things one day at a time and trusting that his oxygen levels and fever will improve so the procedure can be rescheduled soon. While this wasn't the update we were hoping to share, we're thankful the surgery team is making decisions based on what's safest for Steve.
