On this gorgeous Easter Day, I hope that you have taken the time to thank the Lord for the gifts and blessings in your life. I cherished getting to wake up at home this morning and giving each of my kids a laundry basket filled with groceries… as their Easter basket😜! Then we got to enjoy church as a family and lunch at Grandma Garner’s followed by afternoon naps and Eva turkey hunting. The elusive gobbler was unattainable :(. I keep seeing memories pop up of my Easter two years ago. The first holiday I spent away from my family, in a children’s hospital, scared to death! We have come so far. I also take this time to think about Mary. Sometimes when I desperately need information, I will turn to internet research and my stomach plummets when I see the amount of times dismal is in an article about Ewing Sarcoma… then I yell at the devil and remind myself that Mary withstood the most dismal thing possible and three days later, was rewarded for it. May we all find the courage and strength to be like Mary.
Tomorrow is supposed to be the beginning of our next round of chemo, but Eva’s counts are still struggling. Our specific prayer is that her counts are high enough tomorrow morning to get the go ahead to head up to KC and start the next round! If so, mom and I will be taking her up and spending the night, then returning Tuesday evening. As much fun as the Ronald McDonald house is, we hate to request a room for a trip that might not happen and Eva has asked to stay at a hotel for a change and to make it “more fun”. Prayers that we can get a decently priced room tomorrow, not far from the hospital! Keep those prayers coming. We feel each one!!!!!
