Where does a gal like Sophia need to go? What does she like to do? Let me tell you! Sophia has a very full schedule for a 7-year-old! Sophia goes to school, church, usually a few doctors appointments each month, and to therapy twice a week. So just the basics keep her bopping around town. Then there’s the fun stuff which includes T-ball games, dance class, going to playgrounds, going to walks/rolls, birthday parties, swimming pools, the Myriad Gardens, the Zoo, The Science Museum and more!

Brian and I have always said we don’t want to limit our family or our kids in what we do just because it takes more work. There are times when we question whether an outing is “worth the effort,” but when we notice that train of thought we try to push on through it and get out in the world!

We think it’s healthy for our family to be engaged in the community, and even more we think Sophia has a lot to offer to people who’d like to engage with her! Every time she plays at a playground, visits a museum, or participates in an adaptive sport it shows people the JOY that comes from making space and opportunity for people with disabilities to join in.
