Sienna Caines
Hi everyone!
We wanted to pop on for our weekly update. Things are pretty status quo here ( in a good way ) . Sienna is going to the neuro chiropractor 3-4 times a week. We are beginning to see subtle changes- she seems generally more calmer/ relaxed, the tension in her arms is lessening and she seems to be more alert / aware.
She is continuing her therapies everyday at Blyethdale and working very hard. She is exploring and continuing to learn her AAC device in speech, working on core stability, head/ neck strength as well as rolling in PT and fine motor skills/ neurodevelopment treatment interventions with OT.
Sienna is transitioning back to a real food diet that she was on prior to her brain injury( we make real food and blend it to give via her g-tube!). It was a rough transition initially with a lot of vomiting but she is beginning to tolerate higher amounts of real food and almost back to full feeds of it!
Thank you everyone for your generosity and kindness towards supporting Sienna's brain injury recovery. Please continue to share this page far and wide with your community. Spreading the word is just as valuable and helps us reach even more people who may be able to support. Thank you thank you thank you!
