So everything is talked about from day after transplant. So on D+30 is when he will be released (if all looks well).
Today is D+3 after transplant He is doing really well just exhausted. He sleeps 12 hours at night. Wakes up to eat a ginormous breakfast (his appetite is still really good right now) and then he goes back to sleep for a little bit. Then we usually head to the hospital in the afternoon and are there for a few hours, he sleeps while he's there. Then we come home and he sleeps some more. All of that is so NOT like him. They said all of that is totally normal and expected. His neutrophils are dropping and between D+3-D+5 they will get to 0. Starting D+9 they will start some infusions to help with grafting.
We are bored out of our minds, missing our kiddos and ready to be home already but good! It's a little hard not being able to leave his side and not be at home where I have a million "tasks" and "projects" I could be working on. But, feeling so grateful that they have this option and Todd doesn't have to be in the hospital for a month. So definitely no complaints.
We constantly get asked what to pray for. Specific prayers would be that his stem cells graft and that the chemo affects won't be so brutal. Also, that my health stays strong so I can continue to take care of him.
We are so grateful and feel so blessed.
