Seth and Jess Garbett
Hi everyone!
Seth and I feel so blessed and cared for by each of you. Thank you for being on this journey with us!
Last week, Seth had minor surgery and got his port placed. It healed well and he received his first dose of chemotherapy on Tuesday, April 28th. It was a long five hours in the hospital but his body responded well, without any allergic or, rare but scary, reactions.
Thus far, he is feeling relatively good and has more energy than either of us expected. He is already on a roll of cancer jokes and hoping he gets super powers lol (I hope you are also chuckling and shaking your head).
We do anticipate it hitting his immune system and energy more heavily in the next few days, though we are praying that stage of the process is short and his immune system can recover well before his next treatment on May 12th.
In two months they will be able to tell if the treatment is being effective, and if they need to escalate because the cancer isn't responding well or if they can de-escalate treatment to minimize long term side effects.
Thank you again for your support and prayers. We are so grateful!
