Update:
(This AM)Sami was removed from the ventilator this morning. Still currently on ECMO.
(This afternoon) Sam is doing great this afternoon! Been sleeping for a few hours but once she wakes up they’re going to try doing some more PT with her. She’s still fairly weak but is slowly improving. They don’t plan on putting her back on the ventilator at all. They had the choice this morning to either remove the tube or remove ECMO and they decided on the tube for now. They’re hoping to get her off ECMO by tomorrow or maybe the next day. She was able to say her name earlier which is exciting.
(A couple Hours later):
She wanted to see her mamma. So we FaceTimed for a couple of minutes.
She can’t talk, her throat is shot from the ventilator. She’s a little sore and uncomfortable. She was able to mouth “I love you”.

She looks great! Still a long road ahead.
