New Antibiotic

Sam had to take another long trip with us to Utah last weekend in order to get the antibiotic she needed, as well as a culture. The infection in her leg was not going away with just Amoxicillin alone, and alarm bells went off when our home vet did her bandage change. It didnt look good at all. We really started worrying that if we didnt get her on a stronger antibiotic, all our efforts would have been a waste. 
Our vet told us to get pradofloxacin, but they didnt carry it, and no pharmacy in town did either. 
MedVet was the only place that had it in house. Ordering online was our only other option, and it takes a minimum of a week for Chewy.com to verify our prescription and send it to us. 
Unfortunately, we paid a premium price for the availability, about $90 for a 7 day supply. We will say that MedVet has been incredible in their willingness to help us and they have gone out of their way to make things as affordable as possible! We love them and are so happy we chose them to look after Sam. 
And here comes the good news.......
Sam responded well to the new antibiotic, and her leg is looking so much better! Her last bandage change showed immense improvement in healing. Yay!!!!! So we are back on the right track. 
She is eating and drinking. And has lots of energy. She definitely has cabin fever, but her confinement will pay off in the end.
