The boys and I are back! We got in late last night after going Trick or Treating. William came in his costume to show Riley, but unfortunately for him, Riley was asleep. However, that's a great thing!!! She got almost 12 hours of sleep last night- SO NEEDED!
She was in much better spirits today. After a bath in bed, she got to sit with Mommy for a little while, and this afternoon, Daddy took her out of bed to put on her therapy mat. She colored with her brothers, and then the boys entertained her with "story dice." They let her roll the dice and then they'd continue the story. Riley was belly laughing for the first time since her surgery! It was so good to hear her laugh, even if it was through her mask.
She does need lots of prayer for the next 24 hours. Her lung is not improving, and they think her lungs are not opening as they should because of a mucas plug. If it doesn't get broken up in the next 24 hours with medication and therapy, they're going to have to remove it manually. This means putting her under sedation, and doing a minor surgical procedure. If they have to go that route, they're hoping once that clears they will see drastic improvement in her lungs. Poor girl has been through a lot, now this!
Pray that whatever needs to be done, Riley's lungs will open and that we'll see improvement.
On a separate note, Happy Birthday to Riley's Daddy, Kyle!!! So thankful that we can all be together today!
