Today was a good day!

We made it safely to and from Milwaukee. Madeline did exceptionally well while getting both her echo of her heart and her CT scan. Her wonderful nurses set her up with warm blankets and Frozen cued up and ready to go so she held perfectly still. We were able to get great images.

Now for the results.

Her echo looked great, indicating that her heart function has not been impacted by her chemotherapy.

As for her CT Scan....the tumor on her kidney has shrunk to 1/3 of the size that it was originally. Praise God. Our main goal of these past 6 weeks of chemotherapy was to shrink this tumor so that we could preserve as much healthy kidney tissue as possible during surgery. It appears that we will indeed be able to save the majority of her kidney. She still has three nodules in her lungs that were seen on the scan today. Going forward this means she will be receiving radiation to her lungs alongside a more aggressive chemotherapy regimen than she has previously received.

We are disappointed that her lungs are not clear. However, as her oncologist said today "This is still very good news." We are happy to be preserving as much kidney function as possible. We are thankful for the few days our team took at the beginning to make the thoughtful decision to begin her treatment with chemotherapy before proceeding with surgery. Their plan has been successful.

Next Wednesday, June 10th is surgery day. Here are our prayers leading up to next week. Please pray for our medical team. For steady hands for our surgeons as well as discernment and their ability to make wise decisions while in surgery. Pray for the health of Madeline and our entire family over the next week so that we can go into surgery strong, healthy, and well rested.

I do not have any exciting pictures today so here is one simply to make you smile. Our girls will forever be one of the main reasons we laugh each day. We love them a lot and are thankful for a house full of giggles.

Thank you for being our army. We love you all.
