The sixth and final week of pre surgery chemotherapy is complete as of this morning!Β
After a wonderful Memorial Day weekend spent as a family we continued our family time and all five of us attended Madeline's chemotherapy day at St. Vincent this morning. In the words of all three girls it involved "ALOT of waiting." I do not disagree. Things went smoothly, but three hours in a doctors office is indeed a long time. With this being said, all three girls did well! It was good for Kaitlyn and Madeline to see where we are taking Madeline and get a better understanding of what she is going through. Kaitlyn got to spend some time with the child life specialist doing education on cancer, chemotherapy, and ports. Lilah was simply along for the ride, but was happy not to be left behind at home. Madeline still struggles with the discomfort and anxiety that comes with accessing her port each time. Please pray that this improves and that we can find ways to help ease some of her anxiety. It is hard on her and also hard on David and I to watch.
Naturally, we had to follow chemo with bagels and cream cheese. These girls have never been happier! It was a fun date!
We are hoping and praying for an uneventful week. Next Monday, the 1st, will be a big day at Children's in Milwaukee. Madeline will have a CT scan and we will meet with her oncologist down there. We are still pounding on the doors of heaven asking God to do something miraculous and that we see impressive and optimistic results on her scan.
Thank you for all the ways that you are supporting us and walking this journey with us. The texts, calls, visits, sweet little gifts, dinners, and every prayer over our family means so much to us. As always, we are grateful for each and every one of you.
Love you all!
