Rader Family
Hello!
This is a fun update to write because it has just been such a good week in the Rader household. Madeline completed week 5 of chemo on Monday and it went so smoothly. We were in and out of St. Vincent in under three hours. Her labs were okay and she had the privilege of making pink sparkly slime with a volunteer. She was thrilled about it! She has proceeded to be rockstar the rest of the week and is our normal happy Madeline! Praise God.
Today was a big day in our family. Kaitlyn had her end of the year performance for kindergarten and Madeline had her 3k graduation. It was so fun to watch both of them perform with the teachers and friends that they love. There is something very special about hearing small children sing about how Jesus loves them and how He is strong and kind. As we walk through this difficult cancer journey we have felt the presence and love of Jesus each and every day. To hear our girls singing about it today brought tears to the eyes of both David and myself.
It is now officially summer here. Madeline's 3k class generously gifted our family a bounce house. The girls are over the moon! We are feeling a bit spoiled by it but are absolutely loving it and are excited to share it with our friends and neighbors. Cancer is a real downer, but this will be fun on days when we will have to stay home. With school now being complete, we are praying to find a good routine for all of us amidst the chaos of sudden fevers, doctor visits, surgery, upcoming radiation, etc. Life is nothing less than unpredictable right now, but we all thrive in routine so we will do our best to be flexible and enjoy our time together.
As Madeline's scans and surgery approach with the arrival of June we continue to pray that we get to see God do something miraculous. We are praying that the chemotherapy has eliminated the four nodules in her lungs and that the tumor in her kidney has shrunk. God is the great physician and what a privilege it would be to see Him work a miracle in our girl. We know He can, but we will trust His plan no matter the outcome of her scans on June 1st.
As always we love you all! Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend!
