May 18–21 Update: A New Chapter at Sunny Hill

We’ve officially made the move to Sunny Hill, the rehabilitation centre here at BC Children’s Hospital where Presley will begin her intensive therapy journey. Today has been about settling in, getting organized, and finding our way around the unit. It’s a new space with a new rhythm — and we’re easing into it one moment at a time.
Presley is currently in less pain, which has been a huge relief. That said, we know that as her body starts to move more during therapy, there may be an increase in discomfort — so we’re staying ahead of it and managing medication as needed.
Emotionally, Presley continues to be a total trooper. She’s been so brave, but she has a lot of questions. She’s trying to understand why she needed this surgery, how it’s going to help her body, and how long we’ll be away from home. It’s not easy, especially when you’re only six years old — but she’s meeting all of it with curiosity, resilience, and so much heart.
Thank you all again for your continued love, prayers, and check-ins. Knowing we have this community holding us through each stage makes all the difference.
