Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick update as we wrap up this chapter of Presley’s journey.

Presley had her SDR surgery on June 13, and just a week later, we moved into Sunny Hill for intensive inpatient rehab. Since then, our days have been filled with therapy, stretching, recovery, and so much growth. It’s been an emotional, powerful, and sometimes exhausting few weeks—but today, we’re officially heading back to Saskatchewan.

Presley has shown such incredible strength. There were moments of frustration, grief, and resistance—but she kept showing up, day after day. I’m so proud of her resilience, her softness even when things felt hard, and the way she stayed kind to everyone around her.

For me, this experience was a deep reminder that caregiving is a lifelong journey. While I had hoped the surgery might lessen the emotional weight I carry, it actually helped me see just how constant this role really is—and how important it is to have support along the way. Thank you to everyone who’s checked in, sent messages, or simply held space for us. Your kindness means more than you know.

We’ll now begin outpatient therapies back home. There’s still a long road ahead, including the possibility of another surgery or serial casting, but for now, we’re feeling grateful—for Presley’s progress, for the care we received, and for the chance to come home.
