8 AM Wall Calls

This past week I’ve hiked to a retention wall overlooking a lake near our house and just sat for an hour. The first few days I sat and did nothing but notice the sounds and movement of animals around me. The fish, the birds, the crickets, the waterfall, the owl. I watched the dragonflies skim the surface of the water and lamented silently about the trash strewn about. Placing an amazon order for a trash claw arm thing (x2), putting thought into action immediately. I’ve tried to do more of that recently. Not ruminate but solve.

A few days into the week and I started making a call to a friend at 8 AM. A few different friends. All the best the human race has to offer.

Today’s call ended with a new goal of working more silence into my coping toolbox. I tend to overthink, over question, over talk.

My inchstone for the week is allowing for silence. Particularly when I’m feeling overwhelmed in a situation or conversation.

Ozzy has taught me that self defined success comes in inchstones. There’s so much power in that growth mindset.
