Ozzy "The Inchstone Kid"
Last week was my hardest in about a year. I felt so defeated, so exhausted, like I was on a never ending uphill climb with no end in sight.
The weight of the broken and heartless systems were breaking me.
But then human beings showed up. Reached out. Became thought partners.
And we ended this week with my faith in humans restored. Honestly. The world is so overwhelming for so many different reasons but the human beings who lifted us up this week have forced me to zoom in on all that is right with humanity.
The community of people I met today at Rifton Equipment were remarkably kind. Their genuine neighborly love was apparent from the moment they met Ozzy.
A lot has gone wrong for us since becoming parents. Lots of medical trauma. With both kids.
But the community around us has refused to let us slip through the cracks.
After realizing insurance wasn’t covering his equipment I posted to Instagram about it. As a response Rifton reached out, as a neighbor. Turns out they are just a town over.
Today they brought us to the facility and gave us a tour where the equipment is made piece by piece by them. We ended the tour and they told us they were gifting us the stander he was in.
I stood shocked and then rambled out a slurry of thank yous.
We are so grateful. So inspired. In awe of the good others are capable of.
Thankful for this this amazing show of community. This beautiful act of kindness and service to those around them.
Ozzy’s growing orbit of support is what fuels my hustle. Which in turn will get Ozzy what he needs and deserves.
