Nick's Recovery
We finally had a meeting with all of the doctors last Thursday. The room was packed and so was the screen for video calls. We told them how we felt about things and they did apologize for some things. We were told worse case scenarios that we don't want to think about! I was crying, but received so much love from them all! I know everyone is trying to help Nick, but some things seem to get thrown by the Wayside. My two best friends showed up that evening with flowers for me! Also, a sweet friend that I work with came over to see Nick and to check on us! When she got ready to leave, she said a prayer and it seemed like we were standing right in the middle of church. You could feel the Holy Spirit. It was something else!
All of the information they gave us, made for a long weekend, without any company. We did manage to get outside on Sunday. The weather was beautiful. We pushed Nick in his wheelchair down the new Greenway and got to see some ducks like we used to do when he was 2 and 3 years old! He seemed to enjoy it.
The doctors are saying that Nick's brain is not communicating with his gut! Im not so sure that I believe that. Nick does so many things that makes it hard for me to believe he has but a small amount of damage. For 2 days straight. He didn't need any PRNs. He did Sunday evening and then again today, he didn't!
He was very content today. I brought his joke book from home up here and I found another one in the gift shop, so I bought it for him today! I stood by his bed and all I did was open the book and he started smiling and laughing. You can't tell me that he has a significant amount of brain damage. He knows what you are talking about. If you ask him to do something, 9 times out of 10 he will try his best to do it! Hopefully, once they get his Med Action Plan updated on how we will treat him for pain at home, we will get to go home! Pray that he does great once we get back home and can stay away from the hospital! July is coming fast for his intense therapy! Thanks everybody for all of the support and love!
