Miracles for Marigold
For Marigold, living with both Cerebral Palsy and Dystonia is a daily masterclass in resilience. It often feels like her brain is speaking one language while her body translates it into another—intentional reaches are met with "glitchy" involuntary movements, creating a never-ending tug-of-war against gravity.
But thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve been able to change the narrative of Marigold’s therapy. Your donations opened the door for us to work with Michelle Turner and her Movement Lesson™ method, and the shift has been profound.
While many traditional therapies focus on "powering through" with strength and repetition, Michelle looks at the deeper mechanics of movement. She understands that for a child like Marigold, the issue isn't a lack of muscle—it’s a lack of movement organization. By using a gentle, rotational touch, Michelle is helping Marigold find her "midline." When her body learns to rotate around its own axis, those exhausting Dystonic "storms" finally begin to settle, giving her brain a stable, peaceful center.
Michelle’s work is teaching Marigold’s skeletal system how to float rather than fight. Instead of "muscling" through every transition, Marigold is learning the physics of weight transfer and counterbalance.
Marigold’s spasticity feels quieter. Her limbs move with a fluidness we haven’t seen before. We see better head control. Most of all, she is able to relax much more deeply at night.
Because of your support, we’ve secured monthly sessions with Michelle, and we are looking toward the future with a renewed sense of possibility.
With all our love and most sincere gratitude for being part of Marigold’s village,
The Halseth Family xoxo
