Our baby Mateo has been in the hospital NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for 148 days. Mateo faced many challenges since he was born. Baby Mateo was born after only 24 weeks because my water broke very early, at just 19 weeks. That's really early, and doctors told us Mateo had only a very small chance of surviving. But even with all of this, he's still fighting strong.

Mateo weighs 11 pounds now. But he is having trouble with his breathing, which is heavy. Today, doctors put him in an induced coma (deep sleep with medicines) so his tiny body can rest and heal. They say he will need this for some weeks. We feel so exhausted and scared for him.I have four other kids at home, which makes it really hard to be in the hospital all the time. We are struggling with house bills and hospital bills. The journey has been tough on our family.
