At only ten years old, Merida has already lived a journey that most could never imagine. From
the very beginning, life tested her strength: a broken femur at birth, hip dysplasia, club foot. As
she grew, more challenges followed—arthrogryposis, scoliosis, a spinal infusion, and countless
diagnoses in between. Nineteen surgeries later, she stands not as someone defined by
hardship, but as a radiant soul who shines brighter than ever.
Does this hold her back? Absolutely not. Merida is the light that warms every room, the spark
that lifts every heart. She is the bravest, wisest, most extraordinary kiddo you’ll ever meet. To
know her is to be changed—she leaves you with a smile, a sense of hope, and a reminder of
what true courage looks like.
And then came the moment that will be remembered forever: when Merida took her very first
steps. Something so ordinary for most, yet for her, it was a miracle. The room filled with tears
