Mason Graves
Mason did have surgery today! He was not very patient about the wait, but it’s finally done. He is still intubated and in the recovery stages.
His right hand has more severe damage than his left (which is still extremely damaged). It will take a lot of work to regain his fine motor skills. Luckily, he’s stubborn and determined.
The skin grafts were done on his hands. They will monitor his other burns for now. There may be other surgeries on those wounds if they don’t heal properly. The medical team is hoping they’ll heal on their own.
Mason will likely be pretty out of it for a while this evening while he recovers. Another positive is that his swelling is continuing to go down. He is fighting hard to heal and recover, just like we knew he would.
Again, I cannot say thank you enough for the prayers, thoughts, donations, and kind words. His family is seeing it all. They do not have words to express their gratitude to each and every one of you.
