Another good day!
Mason was able to get some much needed rest last night. He woke up today cracking jokes and talking smart.
He was able to eat some fruit and a parfait. Hopefully his appetite continues to improve and they can remove the feeding tube in the near future.
A small mile stone happened. They are allowing him to leave his hand splints off during the day. Mason was beyond happy to get that news. He’d be even happier to not have to wear them at all, but baby steps. Speaking of baby steps, he was able to get up briefly and take a couple of assisted steps. Knowing Mason, he was planning his great escape from the hospital bed.
Mason has been working very hard on his PT. It causes immense pain, but he keeps going. Having goals, determination and strong support systems have been crucial.
I just got word his he currently fast a sleep. This is great news as he was having issues with rest previously. Eating and resting will help keep his body healing. As soon as they allow, I will order him his much requested “white girl coffee” aka Starbucks. (We feel like the hospital would frown upon a Coors)
Thank you all for checking in, and reading his updates. The prayers continue to work and also lift the spirits of Mason, Nic, Danelle and Jesse.
