We received some news this week that is both expected and still a little scary. The results from Momβs bronchoscopy on Friday came back showing mild inflammation. During the procedure, they took biopsy samples from her donor lungs, and the results indicate her body is beginning to try to reject them. Her transplant team has reassured us that this is something they anticipated could happen and that it is not uncommon after a lung transplant.
Starting this afternoon, she will begin a series of strong infusions for 3 days to help stop the inflammation and protect her lungs. Each treatment will last about 30 minutes to an hour.
We would appreciate your prayers over the next few daysβthat the treatments work exactly as intended, that the inflammation resolves quickly, and that she experiences little to no side effects. She is already taking a lot of medications, and they have been tough on her body. Please also pray for peace for Mom and Dad. Even when the doctors expect these bumps in the road, hearing the word βrejectionβ is still scary.

Many have asked how they can help. If you feel led, you can support Mom and Dad through the link below. Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement. β€οΈ
