Marco is a simply amazing young man.  When he was born, doctors told us not to expect much from him.  Shared that he wouldn’t likely engage with us, that he wouldn’t take much interest in anything and that he would probably never express love in any way to those around him.  Fortunately, they were wrong on all three accounts!

When Marco was two and a half he had open heart surgery and became very ill after with a MRSA infection, first in his blood and then in his incision site.  This experience set back his (already delayed) walking and it took him almost a year to fully recover.  He lost a lot of his hair from the strong antibiotics that he had to receive intravenously to kill the infection and was incredibly weak after.  Through PT and the love of many around him, Marco fully recovered and learned to walk just shy of a year after his surgery date.  From that day on it was hard to stop Marco.  He inspired us through that fight and he inspires us still today!
