First of all, Thank you all so much! I still cant believe we were/ are blessed with such support. God is good! Mack had a two week intensive at a functional neurology clinic called Lucas Brain Rehab.
For 10 days Mack spent three hours per day in the clinic doing therapy.
Here is what therapy looked like:
-45 minutes of red/infrared light
-targeted red/ infrared light laser therapy
- muscle stimulation with two devices
- vibration therapy
-sound therapy
-movement therapy
-nutrition and supplement review
These therapies are used to:
-reduce inflammation
-mature and calm your nervous system
-integrate reflexes
-promote brain to body awareness.
-support the body and brain with the right nutrition for healing and growing.
This is helpful for Mack because:
-Seizures are caused by chaos and inflammation in the brain
-A stressed out nervous system will prevent functional and physical healing
-Mack is developmentally delayed and has retained reflexes that need to be integrated before he can progress
-Due to extreme global delay caused by untreatable seizures Mack isn't able to know where his body is at in space. He has limited awareness of his limbs/body and he can't learn to use them until his brain is aware of them.
-Supportive nutrition is everything when you are trying to heal and balance a body. Mack is on the Keto Diet and we need to be sure his digestion is optimal and that he has everything he needs to function and recover from therapy.
We have seen these things improve during/ after therapy:
-Eyes are stabilized and able to focus rather than shaking or drifting

-visual tracking
-less overstimulation of all senses
-Improved awareness and bonding abilities
-unexplained edema in legs and feet significantly reduced
-Less unexplained vomiting
-Improved head and trunk control + strength
-Precise and deliberate movement in legs, arms, hands and fingers
-tolerance of speech therapy exercises
-visibly processes thoughts when experiencing something new (eyes look up to the right, showing thought processing)
-over all he is more calm and comfortable
-Oxygen requirement cut down by half! (1.5 lpm requirement before, .5lpm requirement now)
That last one is my favorite!!! :)
We plan to go again in the spring of 2027. We will be raising funds for therapy indefinitely. Please keep Mack in mind if you are interested in donating to something good! If you are unable to give please pray for us and share our support registry. I have updated the description of our support registry to reflect the current goal of our crowdfunding efforts which are ongoing and active.
thank you for being here!
