We took Mack to see Dr. Stern at Pinnacle Health Family Chiropractic in canton earlier this week and it went well! She muscle tested him for possible sensitivities and he flagged for dairy, as I thought he would, so we are switching his keto formula and powdered formula to all plant-based options. This will hopefully calm down any inflammation and possibly help his seizures. She also recommended a Scuttelaria tincture and starting a fish oil supplement again. Scuttelaria supports the liver, is anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, helps detox the body and calms the nervous system. fish oil has shown to eliminate seizures by calming the nervous system and decreasing inflammation in the brain, in a case study that I found several months ago, and Dr. stern sited the same one at our appointment, so we are starting that again. This time we have no surgeries in the near future to worry about. Fish oil thins the blood and while he was on it the first time, we had to take breaks while he had some operations, which is not ideal. 

We were able to order three months of CBD oil, a CBD nasal spray recue remedy (in case of a prolonged seizure) and 3 bottles of the Scutellaria tincture with funds from our donors here. While all of this was happening, my van was getting repaired for $981 dollars and is now having issues again days later. Mack has been tolerating assisted sitting very well lately and continues to bring his hands up to keep him binky in his mouth. 


Coming up:
7/10 is Mack's month keto appointment. the trial for Keto is 3 months and we haven't seen the results we all prayed for, but the ketogenic diet is working for him in every other way, so we are going to keep him on it. I love the idea of no sugar or processed foods for Mack! We will be increasing his Keto ratio for the 5th time to get him into a deeper level of ketosis since there's room to go up according to his labs! this is good news because we know there's a possibility of keto doing more for him every time we increase the ratio. Mack has not had an EEG since keto admission on 4/29, so we are very eager to see what his brain activity looks like after keto and being on CBD oil. We will get weaning instructions for vigabatrin at this visit as well. This is the medication that is possibly causing his apnea issues.
