Finally, an update with only good news!

I had my follow-up MRI at Stanford and the seroma is either gone or was never there to begin with, who knows! They cited post-surgical changes which means it's likely scar tissue but I'll have another MRI in 6 months to be safe.

My surgeon was also pleased with my healing progress from the DIEP flap and agreed I was ready to have my revision surgery. Originally, it wasn't going to be until next year but I just got scheduled on a cancellation and now it's in 10 days! Presumably, this is my last surgery and I couldn't be happier that I have the chance to take another step toward taking my body back from this horrible disease.

Not only that, but surgery prep means I get to take a medication "vacation" since the estrogen blockers destroy my immune system and I'm always grateful for the short window before the procedures when I can actually move without pain and feel my age again. I'm also taking 8 weeks off from the ranch while I recover, which couldn't be happening at a better time since it's been kicking my ass so much lately.

Thankfully, the procedure is outpatient but Brandon and I will be staying at a hotel close to the hospital for a couple days if you feel inclined to make a donation for lodging / food expenses. I also updated my Amazon wishlist if you'd like to send a care package - they really do lift my spirits.

Thank you again for everyone who's helped me get to this point - you really have helped lighten the load in a myriad of ways and I'm forever grateful for the support. I'll update you again on the other side of surgery but until then, wishing you a relaxing Thanksgiving.

Lots of love,
Linz
