I'm two weeks post op and finally feel like I've turned a corner in my recovery. The surgery went smoothly but for a variety of reasons, I think it being an outpatient procedure made things harder from the get go. Instead of one or two massive incisions, I have six this time (from both liposuction and fat grafting) and at the beginning, the nerve pain was so unbearable, I couldn't sleep for the first week.

Ever since chemo, I'm impervious to most medications but thankfully I got a prescription change at my last appointment which helped tremendously. I also didn't have to deal with any drains this time either, which I'm grateful for too. I have a couple more weeks before my restrictions will start to be lifted but in the meantime, I'm happy the pain has subsided as much as it has. Not to mention, no more surgery if I have anything to say about it!!!

Last week, I also resumed my hormone therapy and I'm excited to say, I'm halfway finished with one of the three of them! The estrogen blockers really impact my quality of life so it brought me so much joy to find out that I get to ditch one of them in a year. So many women quit treatment early (especially this drug) so I'm also really proud of myself for making it this far at all. Hell, I'm proud of myself no matter what after all I've endured the past couple of years.

Thank you for all the care packages and donations to support our medical travel / expenses / time off from work. Brandon and I will be laying low the rest of the year while I continue to rest and recover but I’m so grateful for every bit of your support that helped me get to this point. The journey isn’t over yet but it feels so damn good to close another chapter on something I never, ever wanted to experience.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Lindsay

ps, if you need any jewelry or sports card gifts, Brandon and I are both shipping from our shops too (and mine is currently marked down 25%).
