Peace out Verzenio, see you never! ✌🏼✌🏼 After 2+ grueling years of taking this horrific medication, I’m overjoyed to share that I finish my regimen tomorrow! 🥳
I don’t think I’ve ever been this obsessed with a countdown in my life. I will not miss the bone deep fatigue, increased joint pain / brain fog, and constant upset stomach. Not to mention, the excessive packaging and all the time spent getting bloodwork and sorting and counting pills. It’s been more debilitating than I’ve led on and I’m damn proud of myself for completing another chapter of dealing with this horrible disease. I still have 8 years left of endocrine therapy, which includes monthly injections and a daily estrogen blocker but I’m still grateful to have one less medication impacting my quality of life.
On another note, I’m reaching out to ask for your help yet again. I go back to Stanford next week and I’m hoping to crowdsource Marriott points for my stay. In addition to finally seeing a neurologist to talk about the seizure I had a few months ago, I also have a biopsy of a cyst right beneath my left eye. Because the procedure may impact my vision, I can’t drive home that day. Once the negative pathology returns, I’ll have to go back for it to be removed and will have to stay overnight again.
It goes without saying that Palo Alto is expensive AF but considering how drained I am after the long drive and appointments, it’s a treat to have my own space to decompress. I stayed at this hotel after my revision and it’s close, clean, safe, and comfortable so if you have any extra points to spare, would you please donate some? My Marriott name is Lindsay Elkins, member #206726804 and the account email is [email protected]. For both stays, I need ~150,000 points total.
Endlessly grateful to have this community still supporting me. Thank you for helping me get through it however you can. I’ll update you again when I get the biopsy results.
Love,
Linz
