I fucking did it!

I finished 6 weeks of radiation today and even though I still have reconstruction surgery and 10 years of hormone therapy (read: forced menopause) ahead of me, I’m officially done with my active cancer treatment!!!

I won’t sugarcoat it. Moments like these aren’t really as celebratory as they might seem because there’s so much damage you can’t see behind the scenes.

Cancer destroyed my faith, my relationships, my bank account, and my mental and physical health ... but it didn’t destroy ME. Despite all the horror it took to get here, I’m deeply grateful for that because too many people don’t get a second chance at life after a cancer diagnosis.

It never feels like enough but thank you again for all the prayers, generous gifts / donations, and encouragement over the past 10 months. Your care and concern have been a literal lifeline during the darkest, loneliest moments of my life and even though I haven’t been able to personally thank everyone yet, I appreciate your support more than you’ll ever know.
